Neal was born and raised in Somerset, Kentucky. He was admitted to the Kentucky bar in 2012 and admitted to practice before the Western District of Kentucky U.S. District Court in 2020.
Upon being admitted to the bar, Neal’s early experience included serving as a trial attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy, and a state felony prosecutor. These experiences granted him the ability to hone his trial practice and obtain a greater understanding of trail advocacy and criminal law.
As an addition to Cole, Loney, and Cox, Neal has grown the firms’ personal injury practice, as well as successfully defending several different criminal offenses that include, murder, robbery, and other serious felonies.
Education: Neal received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky University in 2008. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2012 from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia. Neal also completed a weeklong criminal trial advocacy training with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.

Experience: After law school Neal served as a staff attorney for Circuit Court Judge David A. Tapp where he got a behind the scenes look at the civil and criminal justice system. Neal subsequently served as a trial attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy where he successfully defended various clients in criminal trials. Following this experience, Neal served as a state felony prosecutor for over five years. During this time, he honed his trial practice and obtained a greater understanding of trial advocacy and criminal law.
